102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball Concert Review!

Sorry I forgot to write about this yesterday, but the 102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball was AMAZING! Although Bruno Mars was ill and didn't perform and I also missed Selena Gomez *sob,* it was SO fun. Since I won the tickets on Upfront Friday, I was in the TENTH ROW! I don't think I've ever been that close to the stage in a large venue before! We walked in during Travie McCoy's performance, and he was great. After that, there was (unfortunately I don't quite remember the order) DJ Pauly D from the 'Jersey Shore' (who is actually a surprisingly talented DJ), Far East Movement, Enrique Iglesias with a surprise appearance by Pitbull, B.o.B. who also sung later with Hayley Williams for their collaboration single, 'Airplanes' (with an adorable hug from the two at the end), and of course, KATY PERRY! I'm not a fan of Enrique Iglesias, but he put on an exciting performance. During his hit song, 'I Like It,' he (a la Justin Tranter, to me) told all the fans to come running forward towards the mosh pit. It was pretty crazy. I didn't go up there because I didn't want to get pummeled, but I had a lot of fun watching his set, and I loved the surprise cameo by Pitbull! It was quite a good time. Lastly, Katy Perry (the main reason I wanted to go), was AMAZING. She started off singing a Christmas-y version of 'Hot and Cold' while inside of a large golden present, then popped out wearing the cutest little snowman outfit! She then performed 'Teenage Dream,' 'E.T.' (which you may not know since it's not one of her hit singles, but it's a GREAT song), 'Firework,' 'California Gurls,' and a slightly new version of her first hit, 'I Kissed a Girl!' If you're living in Europe, hopefully, you'll get a chance to catch her on the California Dreams tour! Moving on to the last act...Luciana. You may not recognize her name, but she's all over the radio with her new song with Static Revenger, 'I Like That.' Don't get me wrong, I love chick rappers, but I'm sorry, this girl is awful. I never liked the song in the first place, and after she performed 'I Like That,' she performed her new single, 'I'm So Hot,' which basically just sounded like the previous song with different lyrics, talking all about how hot and sexy she is. Personally, I REALLY didn't like it. I sat down through the whole thing. Even NELLY was better. Overall, though, the 102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball was a really fun, great show, and I would go again in a heartbeat! Be sure to listen around late September to December 2011 for a chance to win tickets to Jingle Ball 2011!

Going to the 102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball!

Yes, after countless weeks of calling in OVER and OVER, I was FINALLY caller 102 on the way to school and I won two tickets to KIIS FM's JINGLE BALL! Although my mom got a ticket for talking to the woman on the phone while driving, I am still SUPER excited! I'll get to see performances by Katy Perry, Hayley Williams, Bruno Mars, B.o.B., Selena Gomez, and then...some other artists that I don't really care about. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see the Jingle Ball village when I go to pick my tickets up at will call! I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Are You Country Strong?

If you are, then I happen to have JUST the album for you! Hopefully you all watched the 44th Annual Country Music Awards (CMAs) on Wednesday (CONGRATS to my favorite band Lady Antebellum for winning Single of the Year AND Vocal Group of the Year!) and saw the country debut of the one and only GWYNETH PALTROW! There's always a little worry about how our favorite actresses will sound when they suddenly start a musical career out of the blue, but she actually sounded AWESOME! She sang the title track from her new movie soundtrack, 'Country Strong,' alongside Vince Gill and rocked it! So, of course, the next morning I automatically went on iTunes and checked out the soundtrack. And GUESS WHAT? Leighton Meester, who stars in the movie as an up-and-coming country star, has a song on the soundtrack as well! It's called 'Words I Couldn't Say' and I LOVE it! There's also some other country names on there like Tim McGraw and Faith Hill! So, if you're into country, check out the 'Country Strong' soundtrack and be sure to catch the movie in theaters January 7th! Catch ya later!

Inspiring Video Premieres from Lady Antebellum and Katy Perry!

Woo-hoo, TWO new videos for you to watch, with a little inspiration to brighten up your day! First up is Lady Antebellum's video for 'Hello World,' which you can watch here. Yes, I know, the fog machine in the middle of the street and Charles' dramatic movements are a bit cheesy, but, I'm not going to lie, it made me tear up towards the end. It shows you what's really important in life. Next, Katy Perry's video for 'Firework,' which you can watch here. I've loved this song ever since I heard it on 'Teenage Dream.' It's got a great tune, for one, and it's just really inspiring. I wish everyone could hear it and learn from it. The video features various stories of what Katy would call "fireworks," I suppose. Just ordinary people who stand up for themselves and realize that they're part of this world, too. There's also lots of dancing and pretty colored fireworks shooting off everywhere. Sounds pretty sweet, huh? If you're feeling down, I suggest you watch these videos! Remember, you're a FIREWORK!

Give These Girls a Chance!

I know everyone either hates the Disney stars or viciously strives to hide the fact that they love them. I can honestly say I don't like Miley, the Jonas Brothers, or Ashley Tisdale, but I have to say, I actually LIKE Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. I know Demi...um...isn't exactly the best actor. In fact, I MUCH prefer her singing than her acting. Camp Rock and Sonny With a Chance were just...dreadful. Yet, once I actually listened to some of her other songs from her album and everything, I realized she can actually SING. Her songs are catchy, and most of them aren't too sugar-coated. She's really talented and she knows what she's doing. Now, with Selena, it took me a little longer to actually like her. Again, not the best actor, and she doesn't have Demi's voice, either. But what made me really like her was how she treats her fans. There are so many celebrities who don't take five seconds to really appreciate their fans, but she really does. I might even go as far to say she's almost as fan-friendly as Lady Gaga. She could be spending all of her time out shopping at Barney's or partying, but she makes time for her fans, which I think is really important. I don't really have any respect for people who don't really appreciate their fans. And, I don't like her music enough to buy her WHOLE album, but I have to say, I LOVE her newest single, 'A Year Without Rain.' You have to admit, it's REALLY catchy. I've probably displeased most of the people who read my blog by writing this by now, so I'm just going to stop writing now. I will end this post by saying try giving Demi and Selena a chance!

Sweet New Country Tracks on iTunes!

That's right, partner. This week, if you're feeling country, iTunes is the place to go! First of all, Taylor Swift's last single before her new album, 'Speak Now,' is released, 'Mean,' is out today! It's actually REALLY good, MUCH better than her last single, 'Back to December.' The surprising thing is that it's actually NOT a love song! *dramatic gasp* I think a lot more people will be able to relate to it. Plus, who DOESN'T love sweet little Taylor Swift getting a little more sassy? Come on, this is probably the first one since 'Picture to Burn!' Next, if you don't feel like spending $1.29 (stupid new iTunes prices!) on a Taylor Swift song, you can get a brand new country single, 'My Heart Skips a Beat,' by The Secret Sisters, for FREE! Yes, FREE! It's a very old-style country sounding, I reccomend it! It's only free until next Tuesday, though, so be quick!

Lastly, in other irrelevant news, I just bought two new albums, 'Teenage Dream' by Katy Perry and 'You Love You' by Semi Precious Weapons, and I am LOVING them! They're on replay ALL THE TIME! See you soon!

My Day at the Sunset Strip Music Festival!

Okay, so I went to the Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) yesterday, and let me say that it was AMAZINGLY fun. It was my first real rock n' roll experience. I got to see Neon Trees, Semi Precious Weapons, AND Slash live!

First, I headed to the east outdoor stage to see Neon Trees. Now, I love them, but I TOTALLY underestimated their genre. I thought they were just pop alternative, but they are SERIOUS rock n' roll. They were so much fun and had SO much energy. The lead singer, Tyler Glenn, is freaking amazing. He's so loud and crazy, he can really put on a great show. I mean, the whole band can, of course, but you know what I mean.

Right after Neon Trees was the band I had been waiting for--Semi Precious Weapons. They were CRAZY. No lie. I was so happy that they played their self-titled track 'Semi Precious Weapons' as their first song. I was freaking screaming the lyrics out. I'm surprised that I didn't lose my voice after the first song! Throughout the rest of the set, Justin Tranter, the lead singer, opened a bottle of champagne and sprayed it all over the audience, stage dove and crowd surfed, changed his clothes on stage, and made out with an audience member! Also, the rest of the band members got pretty wild. The guitarist, Stevy Pyne, was jumping across the stage and hanging from VARIOUS hights. It was insane, to say the least. AND, at the end, Justin decided to tell the audience to jump over the barrier and on to the stage, regardless of what the security said! By the end of the show (where they cut off the speakers, by the way) there were tons of fans on stage. It was such an amazing sight. I thought, wow. THIS is rock n' roll. Unfortunately, the police didn't see it the same way. While I was waiting at the Star 98.7 booth waiting for them to come sign autographs, an employee told us that they might not be able to make it because the police were waiting for them after their show in which they "started a riot". Now, I'm all for obeying the law and everything, but seriously? They started a RIOT? I didn't see anything get destroyed, or burned down, or even any fighting! I mean, if it's okay with the band, then why NOT let the fans come on stage? Oh well. In the end, thankfully, they finally made it to the CD signing. I took a picture with the whole band, and they even signed my bag! Also, I gave my blog link to Stevy, so if you're reading this, well, THANK YOU! You HAVE to see Semi Precious Weapons live. They will not disappoint you!

Lastly, my dad had to see Slash, so we watched what was left of his set after the Semi Precioius Weapons CD signing. Him and his whole band were really fun. Plus, FERGIE came on stage to sing, and she was AMAZING! You wouldn't believe how awesome she sounded. I was also very happy because they played Barracuda, one of my FAVORITE classic rock tunes.

And THAT, my friends, was my day at SSMF. Thank you to Neon Trees, Semi Precious Weapons, and Slash for putting on the greatest rock n' roll shows I have seen yet. Rock on, folks!

Music Video Fix--Katy Perry Premiere and Marina and the Diamonds!

Hello, fellow music lovers! Today, I have not one, but TWO music videos I'd like to share with you guys!

The first one is the PREMIERE of Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream'! I have to say, I like her other music videos better, but this one isn't THAT bad. Plus, I love the song, it's so sweet! :) If you want to check it out, I have the MTV link, but it's also on the VH1 website and Katy Perry's official site!
MTV link--http://www.mtv.com/videos/katy-perry/549638/teenage-dream.jhtml

The next one isn't a premiere, it made its way on to YouTube just a week ago. It's Marina and the Diamond's spectacular megamix video called, 'I Am Not a Princess', and may I say it is absolutely BRILLIANT and AMAZING! It has this whole fantasy storyline with characters inspired by Alice in Wonderland and a bunch of other fairytales! Plus, since it's a megamix of songs from her debut album, there's TEN MINUTES of the video for you to enjoy! It's directed by E.L.Y. You HAVE to check it out!

2010 MTV Video Music Award Nominations!

WOOT! Today, they announced the nominations for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, and I'm very pleased since some of my FAVORITE songs, artists, and videos are nominated! I bet you're wondering, GEE, WHOEVER shall I vote for? Well, I CAN HELP YOU! I know, I'm so awesome, right? SO, in my opinion, HERE'S who you should vote for--

Best Collaboration--'Telephone' by Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce (No question on this one. 'Telephone' blows ALL the other nominations in this category OUT OF THE WATER.)

Best Dance Video--'Bad Romance' by Lady Gaga

Best Female Video--'Bad Romance' by Lady Gaga (but if you don't like Lady Gaga, I really think you should vote for Taylor Swift's 'Fifteen'. She got ONE nomination, ONE! Poor Taylor! But then again, maybe you should just vote for Katy Perry's 'California Gurls', because who KNOWS what drama will go down if Taylor dares go up there to accept a VMA...ack. Nevermind. Just don't vote for Ke$ha. That's all I ask. Please. Don't.)

Best Hip-Hop Video--This is a hard one since I'm not really a hip hop fan, but the only two rappers that I have merely ANY respect for are B.o.B. and Eminem. B.o.B's 'Airplanes', you have to admit, is quite catchy, regardless of how overplayed it is, and I mean, HAYLEY WILLIAMS! She's famazing. But on the other hand, Eminem's 'Not Afraid', I think, is a much more meaningful song. I say vote for either, but I just voted for 'Airplanes', because in the end, it's really about the music VIDEO, and I kind of like that video better. Moving on...

Best Male Video--Well, it's basically the same debate here, I won't bore you and repeat it. 'Airplanes' by B.o.B., or 'Not Afraid' by Eminem?

Best New Artist--'The Ghost Inside' by Broken Bells (I'm not the biggest Broken Bells fan, but A. I can't STAND Jason Derulo, his music is awful, and the video nominated in particular, 'In My Head', is also awful, B. I'm not going to hate on Justin Bieber, I have nothing against him, but I just really don't like his music, C. Even though I will admit that Ke$ha's 'TiK ToK' is a catchy song, Ke$ha is a drunken whore who rips off Uffie, so...no, and finally D. I dislike Nicki Minaj even MORE than Jason Derulo. She is so ANNOYING! I absolutely can't stand her, and that video is just...WTF. So just vote for Broken Bells, please.)

Best Pop Video--'Bad Romance' by Lady Gaga (All of these are actually pretty well done videos (well, except for 'TiK ToK', of course), but in the end, I just chose Lady Gaga because she's my favorite singer OF ALL TIME and I love her even MORE than Katy Perry.)

Best Rock Video--'Dog Days Are Over' by Florence + the Machine (Now, I'll admit my vote on this one is kind of just based on the fact that I love Flo to DEATH. The video, to me, didn't really make sense. It kind of freaked me out. The makeup and all that, it was just really weird. Not that weird is BAD, but it just felt really out of place. I don't know. If she wasn't nominated, I would definitely have voted for 'Ignorance' by Paramore.)

Video of the Year--'Telephone' by Lady Gaga (It's a hard one, with both 'Bad Romance' AND 'Telephone', but you have to admit, the 'Telephone' video was absolutely EPIC, and I do think it's better and more interesting than 'Bad Romance'.)

So, I do hope this helped you all who were deeply pondering who to vote for, or maybe I'm not helping any of you and I just like blabbing about music I like. Regardless of who you vote for, I will be happy if you vote at all, so head on down to http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2010/categories.jhtml, set up an account, and VOILA! The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards are on September 12 at 9/8c and of course, are on MTV. See you guys then!

Lady Gaga News---Gaga on the Cover of the New Issue of Vanity Fair, New 'The Remix' Album Out Now, and THIRTEEN VMA Nominations!

Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I was out of town for a week and stuff...but I'M BACK! Well, I have been for a while, but...you know what I mean. ANYWHO, I have much news on ZEH LADEH GAGA (AKA Lady Gaga and/or Mother Monster) for you! First of all, Gaga herself is on the cover of the new September issue of Vanity Fair magazine, on newsstands August 10! She poses in some crazy outfits and also in, well...nothing, in a lovely photoshoot by SHOWstudio's very own Nick Knight, a very good friend of Gaga's. Next up, Lady Gaga's newest album (well, I guess it's an album), 'The Remix' is out today! It features remixes of some of Gaga's best songs, even her upcoming single, 'Dance in the Dark'! Two remixes off the album that I reccomend are 'The Fame (Glam as You Remix) [Radio Edit Version]' and 'Dance in the Dark (Monarchy 'Stylites' Remix). Go check it out on iTunes! And lastly, congratulations to Mommy Monster for receiving THIRTEEN MTV Video Music Award nominations, more than any other artist in MTV HISTORY! Pretty crazy stuff! Gaga's nominations are--
'Telephone' for Best Collaboration
'Bad Romance' for Best Dance Video
'Bad Romance' for Best Female Video
'Bad Romance' for Best Pop Video
'Bad Romance' AND 'Telephone' for Video of the Year

Beyonce's video for her single 'Video Phone' featuring Lady Gaga was also nominated for quite a few awards, but I honestly REALLY don't like the song. I mean, Gaga's part is okay, but the song, in my opinion is pretty awful. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Gaga and I LOVE Beyonce, but it's just...BLEH. You know? I'll be doing another post with more VMA nominations from some of my favorite artists in a bit! In the meantime, PLEASE VOTE FOR LADY GAGA IN THE MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS!

When I first saw the picture on her website I was kind of disappointed, but after I saw how much work went into it, I have to say that it's really pretty cool. I mean, I thought it was just a photograph, but it's really a PAINTING! It took SIX MONTHS! So, no hatin' on the Cotton! Anywho, on the live stream, Katy also announced the 'Teenage Dream' album release date (August 24 for the US, and August 30 for the rest of the world) AND the tracklist unveiling date (this Friday)! PLUS (the COOLEST part, in my opinion), Katy said that the actual CD will even SMELL like cotton candy, which is SO cool. I don't think I've ever heard of a scented record. Be sure to buy the actual CD for the full effect!

Well, that's it! Hope you all got your Katy fix for the day! Remember to check out the tracklist unveiling on Friday and be sure to buy her new album, 'Teenage Dream', August 24th!

Review of Christina Aguilera's New Video For 'You Lost Me'

So, Christina Aguilera's music video for her new single, 'You Lost Me' premiered on Vevo today. I was all excited because, as you know, I LOVES Xtina, but I was actually pretty disappointed. Now, don't get me wrong, the SONG itself is really good, but the video was just...no. It's basically just Christina dramatically walking around, hugging herself, and crying. And then, in one part, some big shirtless muscular guy (you can't see his face) walks over and starts trying to pick her up but she just flails at him, and then when he backs off, SHE STARTS TO UNDRESS. Like, dude. If he backed off, I don't think he's going to like, rape you. Just RUN AWAY. YOU'RE LIKE ON A GIANT EXPANSE. And, I was also thinking, WHERE DID THIS GUY COME FROM? She just looks like she's lying on the ground in the middle of nowhere all peaceful, and suddenly this guy comes in and ruins the whole thing. It was really weird. I mean, I think Christina's better than just crying around and feeling sorry for herself, but, oh well. I'm sure Miss Aguilera will redeem herself. Let's keep watching!

OMFG, More Free Downloads! Be One of the First to Hear a Song Off of Ra Ra Riot's New Album!

Hey y'all, I'm back! Hope you liked that free download of 'Hold On' by St. Lola in the Fields I posted for you guys a few days ago! Anyway, I have yet ANOTHER free download for you guys! I know, I know, I'm so cool, right? Well, this time, the band is Ra Ra Riot! Now, I didn't have a clue about this band until I saw them at the PacSun Summer Solstice Beach Ballyhoo, and I think they were probably the ONLY good act that was on that day. They was definitely high above the white rapper blasting bass and talking about how he'll only "party wit chu if yer da CRUNKEST SIDEEE". They have some pretty BOSS instruments, besides the usual guitars, drums, and keyboard, they have, yes, THE VIOLIN AND CELLO! Not only do they have violin and cello, they are probably the coolest violin and cello I have EVER seen. I don't really know how to explain how they look, so I'll just post some pictures.

I know, you're probably hyperventilating furiously right now going "SHIT I WANT THAT CELLO!" But too bad, 'cause I have no idea how to get one. But I DO know how to get a new song, 'Boy', by this lovely band from their new album 'The Orchard' for FREE! How, do you ask? Why, just go to http://www.rarariot.com, enter your e-mail address, and VOILA! Happy listening! Look out for 'The Orchard', coming soon!

PS--I met the cellist and the violinist at the Ballyhoo, they were standing behind me during the BMX demo, they were really cool :D

The video is for her new single, 'One', and it's irresistibly catchy, not to mention Sky's killer vocals on the track. It features some pretty cool stuff, like a lightbulb "microphone" and even a giant white parachute! Curious yet?

Christina Aguilera Craze!

Yes, it's true. Ever since I watched the Back to Basics concert video on the Christina Aguilera Takeover on Fuse TV (I was watching it because I was bored, in fact) I have been fascinated with Christina's music. I also watched a documentary about her on E! (Was tearing up like three times!) and felt really inspired after watching it. I have a lot of admiration and respect for her. She started off when she was only sixteen years old when NOBODY knew who she was, and did whatever she could to make it in the music industry. I know I'm more focusing on the "old" Christina Aguilera ('Back to Basics', 'Stripped'), but I just checked out her new album, 'Bionic', and it's actually not that bad. I know her song 'Woohoo' with Nicki Minaj (Oh MAN, I really don't like her) is REALLY inappropriate and provocative, and I frowned upon it at first, but I realized that (she said this in an interview) she shouldn't have to do everything by OUR rules. Musicians have to do their OWN thing. I mean, if she wants to express her sexuality through her music, then she can! If you don't like it, just don't listen to it, but don't put it down. I mean, I don't like the song, but I don't mind Christina doing whatever she pleases with her music. It's HER music. Just thought I'd put that out there. Oh, and another point I'd like to address, she is NOT trying to copy Lady GaGa. Of course I LOOOVE Lady GaGa, even more than Christina, but you have to remember that just because someone is trying to be different, it doesn't mean they're trying to be Lady GaGa. So...yep. ANYWAY, I wanted to make a little playlist for y'all with some of my favorite Christina songs (Yes, even some from 'Bionic', AND some remixes, too!) that you can have a listen to! Here it is--

1. Dirrty (feat. Redman)
2. Ain't No Other Man
3. Candyman
4. Slow Down Baby
5. Back in the Day
6. Makes Me Wanna Pray
7. Keeps Gettin' Better
8. My Girls (feat. Peaches, LOVE HER!)
9. Birds of Prey
10. Ain't No Other Man (Junior Vasquez Radio Mix)
11. Ain't No Other Man (Ospina Sullivan Radio Mix)
12. Keeps Gettin' Better (Jody den Broeder Trip Radio)

Well, there you go! Hope you guys like it! GO XTINA! :)

Uffie's 'A.D.D. S.U.V.' Premieres TODAY (And PacSun Summer Solstice Beach Ballyhoo)!

After just releasing her new album, 'Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans', out here in the US, Uffie has already premiered her newest video for her latest single, 'A.D.D. S.U.V.' today! It's probably one of my favorite Uffie songs. Uffie raps from the point of view of many celebrities living their glamorous, plastic lives and how many of them are obsessed with, yes, their cars. A really catchy tune, but I didn't really get the video. It's still pretty fun to watch, there's a lot of nice graphics! Check it out at--
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4EslTTh6Xg

There's also an 'A.D.D. S.U.V.' EP right now, so check it out for some remixes! Btw, I won two VIP passes to PacSun's Summer Solstice Beach Ballyhoo tomorrow (thanks, Nylon Magazine!). I'm super excited, but unfortunately, the two artists that I want to see (Neon Trees and B.o.B.) aren't playing tomorrow, but on Sunday! Nonetheless, I'll get to catch Awolnation, Bad Rabbits, As Tall As Lions, Yelawolf, Ra Ra Riot, Minus the Bear, and Circa Survive. I haven't heard ANY of these bands before, which means after I finish this post I'll be doing a quick MySpace check (I will have access to the stages!). I'm not sure if there are any available tickets left, but if you have time to run over to your local PacSun store to check, you can snag some FREE tickets! Have fun!

New Uffie, The Like, Katy Perry, AND Darrelle London For You!

Yes, how awesome is that?! Lots of new music, so I'll try to shorten it so you don't get bored. So first of all...

UFFIE'S DEBUT ALBUM, 'SEX DREAMS AND DENIM JEANS', IS OUT TODAY!
Dude, I am SO FREAKING HAPPY. I've been waiting for Uffie to release and album FO-EVA. AND we got it in the same week as France and the UK! So...yay!!! I recommend listening to 'ADD SUV' and 'Pop the Glock', my favorites! :)

Next, The Like, one of my new favorite bands, has released their new album, 'Release Me', today! WOOT! They are AMAZING! I recommend listening to their songs, 'Release Me' and 'He's Not a Boy', the catchy beats are irresistible! Seriously, I could replay those songs like ten times in a row and not get tired of them. Also, they're having a big release party concert at The Troubadour with special guests and a dance competition on Saturday, June 19! Unfortunately, I can't go, even though I REALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY want to, but hopefully you can buy tickets and join in the fun, I'm sure it'll be worth it! Be sure to report back to me, and don't forget the black and white dress code!

Third, Katy Perry's official music video for her newest single, 'California Gurls', premieres TODAY! I have to say, I really love it. It's got a really cool Candyland theme with all these cute little outfits! You can watch it on http://www.katyperry.com, the MTV website, and the VH1 website. Get your Cali on!

And last but not least, the lovely Darrelle London has a new single out on iTunes called 'Bad'! Check it out on her MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/darrellelondon or buy it on iTunes! Darrelle's cute little piano tunes will definitely give you a lift if you're feeling down! :)

And that concludes my post! Have fun with all your new music!

Some New Artists For You, Courtesy of NYLON MAGAZINE!

If any of you have heard of Nylon Magazine (AKA THE MOST AMAZING MAGAZINE EVER EVER EVER!), hopefully you've bought their latest music issue for the month of July! Anyway, from this wonderful issue, I have some new favorite artists! The first one is a girl named Sky Ferreira (UH, COOL NAME MUCH? OMFG). Seriously, this girl is AMAZING. Not only does she have kick-ass pop beats, but she can REALLY SING! You can buy her new single, '17', on iTunes now! Second, is a band called The Like. I had their song 'Fair Game' after I had downloaded it for free from RCRD LBL, but I hadn't really bothered to check out their other music. Fortunately, Nylon came along and reminded me to, and I'm so happy they did! They're one of my new favorite bands! The Like is a group of four girls with a distinguished vintage vibe to their music and fashion. Their music is extremely catchy and will have you replaying their songs all day! Give a listen to my favorite songs of theirs, 'Release Me', and 'What I Say and What I Mean'. Have fun, and make sure to buy Nylon's July music issue before it leaves the shelves!

The Moment That We've All Been Waiting For...Lady GaGa's 'Alejandro' Video Premieres TODAY!

Hopefully all you little monsters (and even non-little monsters!) have seen Lady GaGa's latest video. And if you HAVEN'T, you must watch it NOW on http://www.ladygaga.com or http://www.youtube.com/ladygagavevo! Now, I have a LOT to say about this video. First of all, I have watched it twice, read over fifty pages of comments (yes, I have THAT much free time on my hands), and I'm still not sure of the deeper meaning. On her Larry King interview, she said that

"[It's about the] purity of my friendships with my gay friends, and how I've been unable to find that with a straight man in my life. It's a celebration and an admiration of gay love—it confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. In the video I'm pining for the love of my gay friends—but they just don't want me to be with them."

I knew beforehand that the video would be about these themes, but it was hard to see it. Now that I've watched it a few times, I do see the pining for her gay friends element quite clearly. All the sexual innuendo on the cots, the stripping, etc. The thing that freaked me out, though, is what people are saying about the religious symbolism. Listen, people--LADY GAGA IS NOT A DEVIL WORSHIPPER. GEEZ. In the video, she DOES swallow a cross rosary and have an upside down cross over her crotch in one scene, but stop posting all this crazy crap WITHOUT knowing the facts. In her Larry King interview, she also said this--

"I'm very religious. I was raised Catholic. I believe in Jesus. I believe in God. I'm very spiritual. I pray very much. But at the same time, there is no one religion that doesn't hate or speak against or be prejudiced against another racial group or religious group, and -- or sexual group. For that, I think religion is also bogus, so I suppose you could say I'm a quite religious woman that is very confused about religion. And I dream and envision a future where we have a more peaceful religion or a more peaceful world, a more peaceful state of mind for the younger generation. And that's what I dream for."

What's that? Lady GaGa believes in JESUS and GOD? Lady GaGa PRAYS? A LOT? Lady GaGa is RELIGIOUS? It's all true, which leads me to wonder why everyone is thinking she's some psycho devil worshipper. About the swallowing the rosary, I do think that symbolized something, but not something bad. Before she swallows the necklace, the necklace is binding her hands together. I think her swallowing the cross symbolizes her getting rid of the ties of religion that restrict so many people in this world, such as the gay community (see how this is all connecting?). I am in no way saying that religion is bad, I am a very faithful person, and Lady GaGa is also a faithful and religious person, but I'm just saying that some people, even certain religions, do view gay people as bad, and that they shouldn't be on this world, which she's trying to point out. That's why she admires them so much. They do have a lot of bravery that many of us don't have, even Lady GaGa. They are willing to stand up and show that they will love whoever they may choose, and they will do so with pride. You don't have to like Lady GaGa, but there's no reason to say things like that when you don't fully understand the meaning, or especially, accuse someone who has done so much for us like Lady GaGa of doing something so terrible. I have to say, I don't like this video as much as the rest of her videos, but I feel this video has taught me a valuable lesson, or at least help me see things in a new light.

'Alejandro' Music Video News!

Sorry for the late post on this, but I TOTALLY forgot about it, so I'm posting it now! Okay, so I hope you all heard from another source that Lady GaGa was on Larry King Live last night and that you all tuned in to see it! She had a nice, lengthy one-hour interview with Larry, and, best of all, we got to see a twenty-second (DAMN!) preview of her new and long-anticipated music video for her latest single, 'Alejandro'! If you haven't seen it, here's a link to the first part of the interview on YouTube--
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qF9SpvrRUs&feature=related
You can also see the other parts on YouTube in the 'Related' video sidebar. I thought the interview was really great. I know it sounds really lame, but it made me feel a little emotional. I'm so proud to be one of her fans. I feel like she has this really great appreciation and connection with her fans, unlike many other artists. You can hear in her voice how much she loves and appreciates her fans, which is so important. Any artist can just say that they love their fans, but I feel like Lady GaGa really means it. I always wished that my favorite artists would be able to thank each fan personally instead of just speaking to them as a whole, and Lady GaGa somehow does that. It feels like she's thanking all her fans individually, coming up to us, giving us a big hug, and saying "Thanks for being my fan." That's why it was so inspiring to watch.

Now, on to the clip. GaGa said that a lot of the video was inspired by her admiration of the gay community. In the REALLY SHORT CLIP, I did see soldiers, I believe, so I'm guessing that may have to do with the whole "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" thing. Anyway, I'm super excited for her video, which I have (GASP) not mentioned the premiere date of! ARE YOU READY...BECAUSE THE PREMIERE DATE IS...

JUNE 7, 2010 NEXT MONDAY! YAYYYYY!

Okay, done with the spazzing. Anyway, you can catch the new video on Lady GaGa's official website (http://www.ladygaga.com) and Vevo. Hope you guys all get to see it, it's sure to be a good one, as Lady GaGa always dishes out something for us to rave about! Paws up, little monsters!

Hailie Wallas!

Today I got a random friend request from a girl named Hailie Wallas. We had no mutual friends, so I decided to check out her profile. It said she was a musician, so I looked at her music on her MySpace page. Guess what? IT'S FREAKING AMAZING. She's French, I believe, and her music reminds me a lot of Uffie's. I know I probably sound like a total hypocrite right now since I'm always bashing Ke$ha for ripping off Uffie, but I don't know, I just really like this Hailie Wallas girl. I mean, I don't even know whether her or Uffie came first, anyway. I mean, Uffie's not the ONLY white girl rapper, right? And they're definitely both better than Ke$ha, for one thing. So, I guess it comes down to if you like Uffie, I suggest you check out Hailie Wallas. Her music isn't available on iTunes at the moment, but you can listen to it at http://www.myspace.com/callmehailie. Happy listening!

Okay, you've probably ALL heard Lady GaGa's newest single from The Fame Monster, 'Alejandro'! Pretty awesome, eh, eh? ANYWAYS, just wanted to let you guys know that Lady GaGa just released a remix EP for Alejandro today! I didn't like any of them except for the Skrillex remix (I LOVE Skrillex! He did an AWESOME Bad Romance remix!) and the Sound of Arrows remix. They're both AMAZING. Hope you guys give 'em a listen, and the original song, too, if you haven't already heard it! Stay tuned for more info about when the video will be released! The only thing she's said so far is that it's NOT the sequel to the 'Telephone' video, but I'm sure she'll be talking more about it soon! ;)

'California Gurls', Katy Perry's New Single!

The wonderful Katy Perry has FINALLY released a new single! It's called 'California Gurls', featuring Snoop Dogg. Now, I honestly don't like Snoop Dogg all that much, but I kind of have some respect for him since he's been around for so long. He's not THAT bad in the song. I have to say, the lyrics seem a bit stereotypical or commercial-like, but it's still really catchy and fun, definitely sounds like the perfect beach party song. Also, the melody does sound a LOT like Ke$ha's 'TiK ToK', but I am NOT defending Ke$ha for being possibly ripped off, because she totally ripped off Uffie for that song, anyway. Overall, it's a pretty good song, I've been listening to it on repeat for quite a bit now. The album artwork is really cool, too! It looks like really cool postcard. So, if you like Katy, definitely check out her new song! I'm hoping you won't be disappointed :D

Kira xox

EDIT----------------
Okay, sorry, but I don't like these lyrics at all. After really listening to it, I just...ehhh. Snoop Dogg's rap is really perverted, and the rest of the lyrics make girls from California sound like a bunch of tan sluts who live on the beach and have sex in jeeps. BUT WHY CAN'T I STOP LISTENING TO IT?! HELP ME!

VV Brown @ The Troubadour Concert Review!

HELLS YEAHHH. VV Brown was freaking AMAZING last night. It wasn't my IDEAL concert experience, since that morning I fell ill and thought I wouldn't be going, but I actually made a strange recovery around 6:30 PM, and I decided to go, hoping I wouldn't get sick while I was there :S Turns out I didn't, and it was SO MUCH FUN. Although we missed the opening act, Darrelle London (sob), I got there in time to see VV Brown (we got there fifteen minutes after she started her set), AND I got to see her play all three of my favorite songs by her--Crying Blood, Leave!, and Shark in the Water! She also played a few other great songs off her album (which I sadly do not have yet, GRRR!) and she had a great band, with a horns section and everything! Afterwards, I forced my dad to wait with me at the back of the building to wait to meet her, but it turned out she was inside taking pics with fans and signing autographs, so we ran around to the front and I got there just in time to meet her! She was really nice! I took a picture with her, and I also walked away with some free buttons and a free poster! It was a really fun night and I'm so glad I got to go! Although now I'm a bit ill again...

Can't Be Tamed, Can Be Shamed

OY. Have you guys seen Miley Cyrus' new video?! Watching it made me genuinely sad. I think Miley's traveled over to the dark side for good. Anyway, her newest video for her new single, 'Can't Be Tamed', just has awful written all over it. I'm sorry, Miley fans, but really? The video features Miley portrayed as some sort of exotic endangered species of a giant black bird (or as I like to call it, THE MILEY BIRD LADY!) being shown off at a museum (with a 40's-looking audience that looks like a mix of Lady GaGa clones and clean-looking men in suits), but when someone tries to take a photo of her, she hides away, and ALL OF A SUDDEN, a bunch of bird-and-other-strange-animal dancers appear out of no where, causing the audience to run away in fear. Now, before I continue, let me note how ridiculously slutty Miley's outfit is. It looks like some sort of leather leotard (much too tight) with a bunch of feathers and straps dangling off her, giant bird claw-feather gloves for hands, and just about the biggest Bump-It I have EVER seen in her hair. It may have been bigger than Snooki's. Now, I did like the outfits of the other dancers, I have to say. I mean, the whole thing was quite a GaGa-wannabe show, but it doesn't mean the outfits weren't nice (well, except for Miley's bird-lady shindig). I liked the animal dancer outfits, and in a few shots, Miley was lying in peacock feathers with this scaly strapless dress thing that was really pretty, although the weird metal glove-ish thing she had on almost ruined it. Anywho, the rest of the video was mostly just her prancing around the museum performing some pretty slutty dance moves while sporting a REALLY angry face. But enough about the outfits and all, now, THE SONG. The song basically sounded like a really conceited song about, well, being a slut. Let me show you with a few of the lyrics--

"For those who don’t know me, I can get a bit crazy

Have to get my way, 24 hours a day
‘Cause I’m hot like that
Every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention
Like I’m under inspection, I always get the 10s

‘Cause I’m built like that

I go through guys like money flyin’ out their hands
They try to change me but they realize they can’t
And every tomorrow is a day I never planned
If you’re gonna be my man, understand"

Are your eyes and ears bleeding yet? Honestly, it's really sad that Miley's going down this road. I mean, I'm totally cool with her trying to break out of the whole Hannah Montana image and everything, but that doesn't mean she needs to write songs like this OR make videos like this. I do think it's a bit wrong to keep bashing Miley for not being a role model, like being a role model is her job. Her job is to be a musician, not to influence every individual girl ages five and up to make the right decisions in life. It's not her responsibility. It's the parents', if any. They can't just put their child's life in the hands of a pop star's influence. With that being said, I still think she needs to maintain a good image. I'm not saying she has to be a nun, but I don't want her to end up like Lindsay Lohan or something, where the moment someone says her name, you automatically think of the words 'slut', 'alcoholic', or 'junkie'. When people think 'Miley', people should think of fun music, a cool girl that has some decent pipes and has music that's appreciated by all ages. Miley's trying too hard. She just needs to be herself, I mean, that's what got everyone to love her in the first place. I can't say this in total truth because I don't know her personally, but I don't think this is her. Come on, Miley, you can still save yourself!

GaGa Before GaGa!

O M F G.
I just may have found one of the best songs EVER yesterday. I clicked on a link from Lady GaGa's Twitter, which was a really touching slideshow fan video (Geez, I want fans like Lady GaGa's!) that had the most AMAZING Lady GaGa song playing to it that I had never heard before in my life. I was certain I had heard all of Lady GaGa's official songs, so I was puzzled that I had never heard it. I looked all over iTunes but couldn't find it, then I searched through the video comments to see if anyone knew what the song was called. Finally, someone commented saying that it was a song from a really old demo of hers (when she was known as Stefani Germanotta instead of GAGA) called No Floods. I looked it up on YouTube and TOTALLY fell in love with it! It's such an inspiring and feel-good song with some KICK ASS piano playing in it. I'll post the link to the HQ video I used to convert it into an MP3. Any GaGa fan HAS to listen to it!

The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards!

Hey, everyone! Hope you all watched the ACMAs last night, it was quite a show! There were a LOT of performances and a lot of my favorite artists won awards! I'll do a little review of the night--
Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley were pretty good hosts, I thought. I especially loved that mock-Kanye moment when that little old man walked on stage while Brad Paisley was talking about his new video and was like "I just wanted to say that Taylor Swift had the best video of ALL time!" It was too adorable! ^^ Lady Antebellum (I love them SO MUCH, Need You Now PWNS!) delivered an AMAZING performance of Need You Now, AND they won Vocal Group of the Year! I haven't really heard much of Sugarland, but I thought their performance of their song, Keep You, was really great. It was very powerful. And lastly, some TAYLOR SWIFT! WOOT! I didn't get to see her first performance, but her second performance, Fifteen, was really good, plus I love that song! :] The amazing Taylor won THREE awards, I believe, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and the highly honored Entertainer of the Year! Congrats to Taylor YEAHHH! Well, hope you liked my really lame review of the ACMAs! If you didn't get to watch it, be sure to watch it next year! It was the first time I watched it and I quite liked it :D

Ke$ha on Saturday Night Live--Disgraceful.

Ke$ha performed on Saturday Night live, and all I have to say is...wow. Seriously, people. If THAT is the kind of music that's popular these days, it's quite sad. What the HELL was she doing?! First, when she performed TiK ToK, she had that weirdo American flag silver spandex suit thing going on, and then freaking ASTRONAUT dancers start running on stage! Then, she pulled this total wannabe-GaGa and these lasers came up, and then she said, "HEY GUYS...DID YOU EVER STOP TO THINK THAT...MAYBE WE ARE THE REAL ALIENS?" I mean, last time I checked, wasn't this song about PARTYING?! The second performance, Your Love is My Drug, almost made me laugh at how UNBELIEVABLY horrible it was. She was wearing one of her little feather headresses or whatever, along with some really tight suit. But that wasn't the weirdest part. The room was blacklighted, and she had neon paint painted ALL OVER her, like she was some sort of neon Native American party girl or...man, I DO NOT know. All I can say is it was freaky. And after her performance she had to say one of her ditzy party girl things, so she said "It's Saturday night...wanna make out?" I mean, how are men going to find you at all sexy when you're in THAT thing? Anyway, enough with the outfits. On to the actual MUSIC. In both performances, her voice sounded really strained and weak. I do think that it's good that she actually SINGS live, I didn't expect her to, but it still sounded terrible. And don't you all think she's trying a LITTLE too hard to be a combination of Uffie and Lady GaGa at the same time? So...I guess that's all I have to say about Ke$ha's little SNL stunt.

GLASS CANDY!

I bet the title of this post intrigued you, eh? Well, guess what? IT'S A BAND NAME! I know, it's like, the most AMAZING band name EVER. Anyway, Glass Candy is this band I recently discovered from Oregon and they are practically my new obsession! Their music is just amazing, I can't even explain it. It's like some sort of electronic-indie-with-amazing-album-cover-ness. How did I find them, you ask? Well, on this LAVELY (yes, I spelled it that way on purpose) website, RCRD LBL (http://www.rcrdlbl.com/artists/Glass_Candy/track/Feeling_Without_Touching)! I signed on to their mailing list, and every week, they just send me free songs! It's quite awesome. I had been to lazy to look at any of their e-mails, but yesterday I went on and downloaded practically every song they sent me, and this one was hands down my FAVORITE! It's called Feeling Without Touching. You should definitely take a look and download it, what have you got to lose? That's right, nothing! 'CAUSE IT'S FO FWEE.

Kira xox

PS--I believe you can download their album, B/E/A/T/B/O/X on iTunes (Geez, even their ALBUM name is extremely cool!).

REMIX TIMEEE!

Why, YES, it is! Over the years (well, not YEARS, but you know what I mean) I have collected various remixes from free little indie websites and a few on iTunes, and I figured I might share my AWESOME remix list with y'all, in case you want to SPICE UP your songs! And, I know some of you guys might be like, totally anti-remix and stuff, but I used to be, until I actually listened to some GOOD remixes. You know, it really takes a lot of skills to make a remix, so you should really appreciate remixes. ANYWHO--I'm just going to type the remix names now instead of getting all philosopher-like:

1.Halo (We Have Band Dub) by Bloc Party

2.Quicksand (Beni's Sinking at 1.56 Remix) by La Roux

3.Bad Romance (Skrillex Remix) by Lady GaGa (NOTE--This remix is really, really, REALLY good! I looked at a ton of Lady GaGa remixes and this is the only one I thought was actually good.)

4.Bad Romance (Deadmau5 Ghosts Remix) by Lady GaGa (NOTE--I seriously JUST found this remix while writing this post!)

5.Black Magic (Crystal Fighters Remix) by Magic Wands

7.Warrior (The XX Remix) by Magic Wands

8.Lips (We Have Band 'We Have Lips' Remix) by Micachu & the Shapes (NOTE--This remix introduced me to Micachu, it's a REALLY good one!)

9.In the Dark of the Night (Clap Rules Remix) by Michoacan (NOTE--Don't know this artist, just got the remix from a sampler, but it's pretty good)

10.Gold In the Fire (We Have Band Remix) by Monarchy (NOTE--I don't know this artist either, but We Have Band always puts out great remixes so I downloaded this one for free)

11.It Don't Move Me (We Have Band Remix) by Peter Bjorn and John

12.You Belong With Me (Mero Dance Remix) by Taylor Swift (NOTE--I just found this remix while hunting around for a Taylor Swift remix on YouTube, and it's really awesome!)

18.Honey Trap (Co-Pilots' Flying High Edit) by We Have Band

19.Honey Trap (Le Matos Remix) by We Have Band

20.Honey Trap (Them Jeans Remix) by We Have Band

Well, there you go! Sorry there were like a TON of Ting Tings and We Have Band remixes, I just really love them both, and We Have Band has a lot of free remixes floating around online. I hope you like them, I do hope you'll listen to all of them, I only listed remixes that were actually good! Thanks for reading!

BEST KELLY CLARKSON SONG EVER!

OMG, guys. Yesterday, I found like, the BEST KELLY CLARKSON SONG EVER. EVER! I couldn't believe I had never heard it, it's SO awesome. It's called Long Shot, it's a Katy Perry cover. Yet, honestly, I think Kelly's version is way better. No offense to Katy, btw, lover her, but her version just sounds a little pitchy. Anyway, it's SUCH a good song, you HAVE to check it out. Anyway, just wanted to tell you guys about it =]
Hope you like it, you can find it on YouTube!

Paul McCartney at the HOLLYWOOD BOWL!

OMG, guys! Paul McCartney was so AMAZING last night at the concert! He is a revolutionary, he still sounds the same as he did when he was in The Beatles. He played a three-hour set with like, two encores! My favorite songs Blackbird, Here Today, and Hey Jude. Here Today made me cry, it was so heartbreaking! And Hey Jude was so amazing at the end, when everyone was going all "NA NA NA NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, HEY JUDEEE!" it was so cool, I know it sounds cheesy, but it WAS. It's kind of like once-in-a-lifetime in-the-moment things. You're just like "OMFG WOW." Anyway, this guy is great. You HAVE to see him live if you haven't already, it's worth all the money you have to spend on tickets! Hope you guys get to see him before he dies!

We Have Band's New Single, Divisive, Out TODAY!

Woot woot! You may have already heard it on their AWESOME video, but just in case, I wanted to tell you all that We Have Band's last single leading up to the album was released today! It's called Divisive, and it's really cool. There's an EP on iTunes right now with the song's radio edit and quite a few remixes, so check it out! Unfortunately, I couldn't buy it because I don't have the TWO CENTS left to buy the 99-cent song. How sad is that? Stupid $1.29 prices! Well, if you're richer than me, please go buy the EP on iTunes, or just the song! You won't be disappointed! And remember, their debut album, WHB, is being released on April 5! Be sure to check back here for a very exciting album review!

Starting a Twitter REVOLUTION in Honor of Uffie!

Okay, I should have addressed this issue a long time ago, but I didn't, so I'm going to do it now. Now, I'm sure you all know that totally stupid but somehow extremely addicting song TiK ToK (uh, spelling problems, much?) by Ke$ha (UGHHH, THE DOLLAR SIGN!). You like it? Well, IT'S STOLEN! Yes, the only good song on her album is just a rip off of a song called TTHHEE PPAARRTTYY by Justic ft. Uffie. I'm dead serious. Uffie is an AH-MAZING underground white rapper/vocalist chick with some SERIOUS talent, and I think she should be getting all this money instead of freaking Ke$ha. So, my friend and I decided we are going to make Ke$ha PAY. That's right! We are going to start a Twitter REVOLUTION and you are going to help us! We will send out this tweet, so copy it and paste, tell ALL your followers to retweet it.

#keshaexposed Ke$ha stole her song TiK ToK from The Party by Uffie!Don't believe it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUqFm0mhTYY PLEASE RT

We can do this, people! Give Ke$ha what she deserves!

LADY GAGA'S 'TELEPHONE' IS HERE!!!

Well, if you're a Lady GaGa fan, you've probably already seen it, but just had to blog about it just in case! Anyway, I couldn't stay up until 11:30, of course, but THANK GOODNESS, it got leaked and I watched it at whopping 9:00 PM on this lovely website--
http://www.mamapop.com

Anyway, it was EPIC! It was totally GaGa, and it was almost ten minutes long! It's supposed to be a continuation of the Paparazzi video, after Lady GaGa infamously kills her boyfriend. She's sent to jail, and then bailed out by her dear friend Beyonce (or "Honey B") and they commit another murder at a restaurant, then ride off into the sunset in their "Pussy Wagon". Don't know what it has to do with telephones, but it's pretty interesting! Well, you don't need me to tell you where to look to watch this, it's probably on every website there is. So GO, HURRY!

Lady GaGa's 'Telephone' Premiere on Vevo This Thursday! (Plus, Some VERY Exciting Concert News!)

WOO-HOO! Lady GaGa is premiering ANOTHER new video on Vevo THIS THURSDAY at 9 PM for her song, Telephone! I have to say, I'm not a big fan of this song. I mean, the music itself is pretty good, but the lyrics seem pretty meaningless, the only part I actually like is the chorus, and even that's pretty much just going "EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH". Still, though, I'm VERY excited for Miss GaGa's new video, I think her videos are just the best. They're so unique with so many cool outfits, and with so much money, she can pretty much do anything! So, I highly suggest you watch the premiere! Now, on to my exciting concert news...*drum roll* I'm going to see...PAUL MCCARTNEY IN CONCERT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Yes, I am MUCHOS excited! It's going to be a blast! Don't worry, I'll deffo do a post on it! See you guys later! Remember VEVO AT 9 PM!!!

EDIT--
WOOPS, guys! Okay, I got the time seriously wrong. It premieres on E! News, Vevo, AND LadyGaGa.com at 11:30 PM. Don't forget!!!

Little Boots' Debut Album Out Now!

I should have blogged about this on Tuesday, but I forgot to. :S ANYWHO, the amazing Little Boots has FINALLY released her debut album in the US, as of March 2nd! I haven't even sampled it yet, but I'm sure it's AH-MAZING! I love Little Boots! If you've never heard of her, she's this bleach blonde British girl who plays her own synth and piano AND sings! She has great songs, and even though she's pretty popular now, she still makes little acoustic covers on her YouTube channel! If you want to check them out, here's the link--
http://www.youtube.com/littlebootsvideos

So make sure to buy Little Boots' new album! You won't be disappointed! She's also currently on a US tour (I can't go to her El Rey show, sob sob) AND she'll be making a special appearance at Amoeba Records in San Francisco!

GIRL POWERRR!

YEAHHH! Okay, so recently I've had a mysterious obsession out of nowhere for that old song by Alanis Morissette, You Oughta Know. I don't know why, I've just been singing it like everyday, and I just downloaded it on iTunes. It's AWESOME! It makes me feel really EMPOWERED, and I've never even been in a relationship! So, if for some reason you've never heard this song or you're feeling crappy about your ex or something, GO DOWNLOAD IT! Another interesting fact, it's rumored to be about Dave Coulier. Yes, Dave Coulier, JOEY, FROM FULL HOUSE. Weirddd, right? Anyway, I also have some awesome girl-icious news, Lady GaGa, our favorite female pop artist, is up for two Kid's Choice Awards! Wooo! She's nominated for Best Female Musician and Favorite Song (Paparazzi). Vote for her here--

New Raveonettes Video for "Heart of Stone"!

Yes, they've already released ANOTHER new video, and this time it's ANIMATED! Trust me, it's not nearly as disturbing as the Boys Who Rape video, it's pretty cool. The story is a bit confusing, but it kind of reminds me of something Tim Burton-ish. Speaking of Tim Burton, who's totally psyched for his new Alice in Wonderland movie?! Okay, getting off topic, so I'll give you the link now!--

New We Have Band Video AND Remix! (And Some Mainstream Music For Y'all)

M-hmmm. Well, on my previous blog post about We Have Band I mentioned that they had a new single (out on March 22 and on their MySpace page right now) called Divisive. And now it has a video exclusively on the NME site! Like, a really awesome video with stop motion and making letters with humans and such. Can't wait to see it? Well here's the link!

http://www.nme.com/home

Also, there's yet ANOTHER free Honey Trap remix (that song's getting a lot of attention!) on the RCRDLBL website. I just listened to it and it's quite good, so here's the link for that, too--

http://rcrdlbl.com/artists/We_Have_Band/track/Honeytrap_Co-Pilots_Flying_High_Edit

And this doesn't really relate to We Have Band, but I've been liking quite a lot of mainstream music lately for some reason...here's some mainstream songs you should check out if you're feeling like an indie snob--
1.Need You Now-Lady Antebellum (I KNOW, it's country, but it's addictive!)
2.Hey, Soul Sister-Train (Dude. This song is FREAKING AMAZING! I can't stop listening to it.)
3.For Your Entertainment-Adam Lambert (I know this isn't his hit anymore, but I still like it, despite it's extreme inappropriateness)
4.Pretty much like, EVERY Lady GaGa song. I used to hate her, but now I think she's AH-MAZING!
5.TiK ToK-Ke$ha (Okay, so I really don't like Ke$ha. The rest of her album besides this one song is really horrible and meaningless, and I have no idea why her song Blah, Blah, Blah is popular because it's one of the most annoying songs I've ever heard. ANYWAY, even though she totally stole everything from Justice and Uffie's TTHHEE PPAARRTTYY, I still can't help but like this song.)

So, there you go! Lots of stuff to listen to, eh? Have a nice weekend!

ST. LOLA IN THE FIELDS!

Okay, guys. I found this indie band from Nashville yesterday, and they are SUPER DUPER AMAZING! They're called St. Lola in the Fields. You HAVE to check out their music, especially their song Don't Say! It's REALLY pretty. Unfortunately, none of it's on iTunes, so you'll have to just listen to it on the internet or convert it from YouTube or something...
Here's a link to a really good YouTube to MP3 converting website--

And here's the link to their MySpace--

IT'S A V.V. BROWN MIRACLE!

It is, indeed! Just yesterday, V.V. Brown was merely a UK-only artist who brought the best elements of pop and a little bit of motown together, creating great music for me to take off YouTube and change to an MP3, but now, she's in the US! WOOT! I have been waiting FOREVA for this girl to release her album in the US, and it's finally here! Plus, something even MORE awesome, one of my favorite songs by her, Shark in the Water, is the iTUNES FREE SINGLE OF THE WEEK THIS WEEK! I know, it's too much V.V. Brown awesomeness to handle! So, after you read this, you BETTER go on iTunes and buy her album (or buy it at a record store) AND get her special free Single of the Week, which is only available until next Tuesday, so hurry! Hope you like her as much as I do!

New Raveonettes Video for "Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)"!

Hey, everyone! You probably remember my post about The Raveonette's new album In and Out of Control being released. Now they have a brand new DIY video for one of the very good songs on the album, Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed). I really like the song, but I have to say, the video was a bit disturbing. They had these horrible photos of rape victims that totally FREAKED me out. I'm already paranoid enough! If you can't handle that kind of stuff, I suggest you just download the song on iTunes...
