COUNTRYYY!

Some of you may hate country music, but...OH WELL. I happen to actually love it. Everyone thinks country music is just some redneck with a cowboy hat singing "YEEHAW" with a banjo on a field, but it's not...always. ANYWHO, I happen to know of some great country artists, and hopefully after you check out my country playlist, you'll open your mind to this awesome genre!

1. Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood
2. Last Name by Carrie Underwood
3. Flat On the Floor by Carrie Underwood
4. I Run to You by Lady Antebellum
5. Lookin' For a Good Time by Lady Antebellum
6. Love Don't Live Here by Lady Antebellum
7. Need You Now by Lady Antebellum
8. Perfect Day by Lady Antebellum
9. You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift
10. Today Was a Fairytale by Taylor Swift
11. Our Song by Taylor Swift
12. Love Story by Taylor Swift
13. Picture to Burn by Taylor Swift

Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the country playlist!

Christina Aguilera Craze!

Yes, it's true. Ever since I watched the Back to Basics concert video on the Christina Aguilera Takeover on Fuse TV (I was watching it because I was bored, in fact) I have been fascinated with Christina's music. I also watched a documentary about her on E! (Was tearing up like three times!) and felt really inspired after watching it. I have a lot of admiration and respect for her. She started off when she was only sixteen years old when NOBODY knew who she was, and did whatever she could to make it in the music industry. I know I'm more focusing on the "old" Christina Aguilera ('Back to Basics', 'Stripped'), but I just checked out her new album, 'Bionic', and it's actually not that bad. I know her song 'Woohoo' with Nicki Minaj (Oh MAN, I really don't like her) is REALLY inappropriate and provocative, and I frowned upon it at first, but I realized that (she said this in an interview) she shouldn't have to do everything by OUR rules. Musicians have to do their OWN thing. I mean, if she wants to express her sexuality through her music, then she can! If you don't like it, just don't listen to it, but don't put it down. I mean, I don't like the song, but I don't mind Christina doing whatever she pleases with her music. It's HER music. Just thought I'd put that out there. Oh, and another point I'd like to address, she is NOT trying to copy Lady GaGa. Of course I LOOOVE Lady GaGa, even more than Christina, but you have to remember that just because someone is trying to be different, it doesn't mean they're trying to be Lady GaGa. So...yep. ANYWAY, I wanted to make a little playlist for y'all with some of my favorite Christina songs (Yes, even some from 'Bionic', AND some remixes, too!) that you can have a listen to! Here it is--

1. Dirrty (feat. Redman)
2. Ain't No Other Man
3. Candyman
4. Slow Down Baby
5. Back in the Day
6. Makes Me Wanna Pray
7. Keeps Gettin' Better
8. My Girls (feat. Peaches, LOVE HER!)
9. Birds of Prey
10. Ain't No Other Man (Junior Vasquez Radio Mix)
11. Ain't No Other Man (Ospina Sullivan Radio Mix)
12. Keeps Gettin' Better (Jody den Broeder Trip Radio)

Well, there you go! Hope you guys like it! GO XTINA! :)

Uffie's 'A.D.D. S.U.V.' Premieres TODAY (And PacSun Summer Solstice Beach Ballyhoo)!

After just releasing her new album, 'Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans', out here in the US, Uffie has already premiered her newest video for her latest single, 'A.D.D. S.U.V.' today! It's probably one of my favorite Uffie songs. Uffie raps from the point of view of many celebrities living their glamorous, plastic lives and how many of them are obsessed with, yes, their cars. A really catchy tune, but I didn't really get the video. It's still pretty fun to watch, there's a lot of nice graphics! Check it out at--
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4EslTTh6Xg

There's also an 'A.D.D. S.U.V.' EP right now, so check it out for some remixes! Btw, I won two VIP passes to PacSun's Summer Solstice Beach Ballyhoo tomorrow (thanks, Nylon Magazine!). I'm super excited, but unfortunately, the two artists that I want to see (Neon Trees and B.o.B.) aren't playing tomorrow, but on Sunday! Nonetheless, I'll get to catch Awolnation, Bad Rabbits, As Tall As Lions, Yelawolf, Ra Ra Riot, Minus the Bear, and Circa Survive. I haven't heard ANY of these bands before, which means after I finish this post I'll be doing a quick MySpace check (I will have access to the stages!). I'm not sure if there are any available tickets left, but if you have time to run over to your local PacSun store to check, you can snag some FREE tickets! Have fun!

I recommend listening to their songs, 'Release Me' and 'He's Not a Boy', the catchy beats are irresistible! Seriously, I could replay those songs like ten times in a row and not get tired of them. Also, they're having a big release party concert at The Troubadour with special guests and a dance competition on Saturday, June 19! Unfortunately, I can't go, even though I REALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY want to, but hopefully you can buy tickets and join in the fun, I'm sure it'll be worth it! Be sure to report back to me, and don't forget the black and white dress code!

Third, Katy Perry's official music video for her newest single, 'California Gurls', premieres TODAY! I have to say, I really love it. It's got a really cool Candyland theme with all these cute little outfits! You can watch it on http://www.katyperry.com, the MTV website, and the VH1 website. Get your Cali on!

And last but not least, the lovely Darrelle London has a new single out on iTunes called 'Bad'! Check it out on her MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/darrellelondon or buy it on iTunes! Darrelle's cute little piano tunes will definitely give you a lift if you're feeling down! :)

And that concludes my post! Have fun with all your new music!

Some New Artists For You, Courtesy of NYLON MAGAZINE!

If any of you have heard of Nylon Magazine (AKA THE MOST AMAZING MAGAZINE EVER EVER EVER!), hopefully you've bought their latest music issue for the month of July! Anyway, from this wonderful issue, I have some new favorite artists! The first one is a girl named Sky Ferreira (UH, COOL NAME MUCH? OMFG). Seriously, this girl is AMAZING. Not only does she have kick-ass pop beats, but she can REALLY SING! You can buy her new single, '17', on iTunes now! Second, is a band called The Like. I had their song 'Fair Game' after I had downloaded it for free from RCRD LBL, but I hadn't really bothered to check out their other music. Fortunately, Nylon came along and reminded me to, and I'm so happy they did! They're one of my new favorite bands! The Like is a group of four girls with a distinguished vintage vibe to their music and fashion. Their music is extremely catchy and will have you replaying their songs all day! Give a listen to my favorite songs of theirs, 'Release Me', and 'What I Say and What I Mean'. Have fun, and make sure to buy Nylon's July music issue before it leaves the shelves!

The Moment That We've All Been Waiting For...Lady GaGa's 'Alejandro' Video Premieres TODAY!

Hopefully all you little monsters (and even non-little monsters!) have seen Lady GaGa's latest video. And if you HAVEN'T, you must watch it NOW on http://www.ladygaga.com or http://www.youtube.com/ladygagavevo! Now, I have a LOT to say about this video. First of all, I have watched it twice, read over fifty pages of comments (yes, I have THAT much free time on my hands), and I'm still not sure of the deeper meaning. On her Larry King interview, she said that

"[It's about the] purity of my friendships with my gay friends, and how I've been unable to find that with a straight man in my life. It's a celebration and an admiration of gay love—it confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. In the video I'm pining for the love of my gay friends—but they just don't want me to be with them."

I knew beforehand that the video would be about these themes, but it was hard to see it. Now that I've watched it a few times, I do see the pining for her gay friends element quite clearly. All the sexual innuendo on the cots, the stripping, etc. The thing that freaked me out, though, is what people are saying about the religious symbolism. Listen, people--LADY GAGA IS NOT A DEVIL WORSHIPPER. GEEZ. In the video, she DOES swallow a cross rosary and have an upside down cross over her crotch in one scene, but stop posting all this crazy crap WITHOUT knowing the facts. In her Larry King interview, she also said this--

"I'm very religious. I was raised Catholic. I believe in Jesus. I believe in God. I'm very spiritual. I pray very much. But at the same time, there is no one religion that doesn't hate or speak against or be prejudiced against another racial group or religious group, and -- or sexual group. For that, I think religion is also bogus, so I suppose you could say I'm a quite religious woman that is very confused about religion. And I dream and envision a future where we have a more peaceful religion or a more peaceful world, a more peaceful state of mind for the younger generation. And that's what I dream for."

What's that? Lady GaGa believes in JESUS and GOD? Lady GaGa PRAYS? A LOT? Lady GaGa is RELIGIOUS? It's all true, which leads me to wonder why everyone is thinking she's some psycho devil worshipper. About the swallowing the rosary, I do think that symbolized something, but not something bad. Before she swallows the necklace, the necklace is binding her hands together. I think her swallowing the cross symbolizes her getting rid of the ties of religion that restrict so many people in this world, such as the gay community (see how this is all connecting?). I am in no way saying that religion is bad, I am a very faithful person, and Lady GaGa is also a faithful and religious person, but I'm just saying that some people, even certain religions, do view gay people as bad, and that they shouldn't be on this world, which she's trying to point out. That's why she admires them so much. They do have a lot of bravery that many of us don't have, even Lady GaGa. They are willing to stand up and show that they will love whoever they may choose, and they will do so with pride. You don't have to like Lady GaGa, but there's no reason to say things like that when you don't fully understand the meaning, or especially, accuse someone who has done so much for us like Lady GaGa of doing something so terrible. I have to say, I don't like this video as much as the rest of her videos, but I feel this video has taught me a valuable lesson, or at least help me see things in a new light.

'Alejandro' Music Video News!

Sorry for the late post on this, but I TOTALLY forgot about it, so I'm posting it now! Okay, so I hope you all heard from another source that Lady GaGa was on Larry King Live last night and that you all tuned in to see it! She had a nice, lengthy one-hour interview with Larry, and, best of all, we got to see a twenty-second (DAMN!) preview of her new and long-anticipated music video for her latest single, 'Alejandro'! If you haven't seen it, here's a link to the first part of the interview on YouTube--
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qF9SpvrRUs&feature=related
You can also see the other parts on YouTube in the 'Related' video sidebar. I thought the interview was really great. I know it sounds really lame, but it made me feel a little emotional. I'm so proud to be one of her fans. I feel like she has this really great appreciation and connection with her fans, unlike many other artists. You can hear in her voice how much she loves and appreciates her fans, which is so important. Any artist can just say that they love their fans, but I feel like Lady GaGa really means it. I always wished that my favorite artists would be able to thank each fan personally instead of just speaking to them as a whole, and Lady GaGa somehow does that. It feels like she's thanking all her fans individually, coming up to us, giving us a big hug, and saying "Thanks for being my fan." That's why it was so inspiring to watch.

Now, on to the clip. GaGa said that a lot of the video was inspired by her admiration of the gay community. In the REALLY SHORT CLIP, I did see soldiers, I believe, so I'm guessing that may have to do with the whole "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" thing. Anyway, I'm super excited for her video, which I have (GASP) not mentioned the premiere date of! ARE YOU READY...BECAUSE THE PREMIERE DATE IS...

JUNE 7, 2010 NEXT MONDAY! YAYYYYY!

Okay, done with the spazzing. Anyway, you can catch the new video on Lady GaGa's official website (http://www.ladygaga.com) and Vevo. Hope you guys all get to see it, it's sure to be a good one, as Lady GaGa always dishes out something for us to rave about! Paws up, little monsters!
