Fiona Crawford + She & Him = Happy :D

They sound alike and they both sound great! I had their songs constantly on replay while drawing. Fiona Crawford is a ukelele player from Scotland and She & Him is actress Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. So if you're feeling down I'd definitely buy their songs on iTunes (well, not Fiona Crawford's, she's not on there) or at least go on their MySpaces! Stay happy!

Free Five-Song Live Session by Eels On MySpace Transmissions!

You might have heard the song by Eels, 'Fresh Blood' on the iTunes Indie Spotlight playlist. After I heard it, I listened to more of their albums and they're really awesome! Anyway, MySpace Transmissions did a live sessions with Eels and you can download it for free at this link--

So I recommend that you download it. It's free and the acoustics sound really great. Well, see ya!

ANOTHER Free iTunes Playlist...

I have to say, iTunes really keeps the deals coming. There's another set of twenty free songs for the Indie Spotlight. I have to say it's definitely not as good as the last, I've already deleted three songs off it (listening right now). Well, that's my opinion. It has a lot of hip hop and rap so far, which I'm really not into. But again, you should download it. There are some pretty decent songs on it!

Another Free Set of Songs from iTunes!

If you liked the free twenty Indie Spotlight songs from iTunes, then you'll probably like their new Lollapalooza fifteen-song sampler. I haven't heard of any of the artists on it except for Deerhunter, but I'm listening to it right now and so far it's pretty good. Since I wasn't able to attend (sobs) at least I can hear what kind of music was there. Unfortunately, it doesn't have Bat For Lashes on the playlist, though. Still, check it out. It's not everyday you get fifteen free songs!

The First CD I've Seen That's Black on BOTH Sides.

A while back on May 22 I saw The Kills with The Horrors supporting them and ever since then I've thought they were really cool. I just bought their album 'Strange House' and I realized that the back of the CD is black instead of silver! I just thought that was really amazing for some reason. I mean, how often do you see that kind of stuff. I have a picture but it's kind of crappy 'cause I just took it on my webcam, so...here. BEHOLD THE AMAZING BLACK CD!!!
Photobucket
I flipped the CD over in the case so you could see the back. Yay!

Let Us Be Free...

I got Tilly and the Wall's album 'Bottoms of Barrels' yesterday on a late night trip to Amoeba Music and I really like it. It's real feel-good music and just makes you really happy. Well, most of the songs, at least. A few of the songs like 'Lost Girls' and 'Coughing Colors' are a bit depressing, but good nonetheless. I think one of my favorite songs on the album would be 'Sing Songs Along' just because it's so happy and cheerful. There's lots of shouting and tap dancing, and the video's really fun too, with gymnasiums and trampolines. I know the album's pretty old and if you're a Tilly and the Wall fan you've probably have already heard it (well, I hadn't), but it's an album I would recommend. And their album 'O' is really good, too. Well, I'm gonna post the 'Sing Songs Along' video and be off. All that's left is 'Wild Like Children' left for me to buy...

The Ting Tings/Natalie Portman's Shaved Head/Hottub 8/4/09

That was the most amazing concert I have ever been to! It was so fun and exciting. I got there early and stood around for two hours, but it was definitely worth it. I was in the pit area! Anyway, the first opening act was this hip-hop girl group called Hottub. They were really energetic and fun, but some of their dance moves were a little...ehhh. The second opening act I liked a lot better. They were called Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. You can't expect much from a band with a name like that, but they were really awesome. They were really fun to dance to. And last but not least, The Ting Tings after that. They were SO amazing. I was dancing and screaming my head off the whole time. They had this whole big screen in the back and all these synthesizers. I even almost caught the drumstick! It was a really good show. Hope you all get to see The Ting Tings sometime!

The Ting Tings @ Club Nokia--Tomorrow!!!

I'm extremely excited to say that tomorrow I'm going to see The Ting Tings at Club Nokia! It's going to be SO fun. It's been almost a year since I last saw them live. If there are any tickets left, you should definitely grab some, and if they're aren't...well, I'll write all about it. I would upload photos, but they don't allow cameras! How messed up is that? Well, see you guys there!
