GIRL POWERRR!

YEAHHH! Okay, so recently I've had a mysterious obsession out of nowhere for that old song by Alanis Morissette, You Oughta Know. I don't know why, I've just been singing it like everyday, and I just downloaded it on iTunes. It's AWESOME! It makes me feel really EMPOWERED, and I've never even been in a relationship! So, if for some reason you've never heard this song or you're feeling crappy about your ex or something, GO DOWNLOAD IT! Another interesting fact, it's rumored to be about Dave Coulier. Yes, Dave Coulier, JOEY, FROM FULL HOUSE. Weirddd, right? Anyway, I also have some awesome girl-icious news, Lady GaGa, our favorite female pop artist, is up for two Kid's Choice Awards! Wooo! She's nominated for Best Female Musician and Favorite Song (Paparazzi). Vote for her here--

Vote! Remember, GIRLS RULE!

New Raveonettes Video for "Heart of Stone"!

Yes, they've already released ANOTHER new video, and this time it's ANIMATED! Trust me, it's not nearly as disturbing as the Boys Who Rape video, it's pretty cool. The story is a bit confusing, but it kind of reminds me of something Tim Burton-ish. Speaking of Tim Burton, who's totally psyched for his new Alice in Wonderland movie?! Okay, getting off topic, so I'll give you the link now!--

New We Have Band Video AND Remix! (And Some Mainstream Music For Y'all)

M-hmmm. Well, on my previous blog post about We Have Band I mentioned that they had a new single (out on March 22 and on their MySpace page right now) called Divisive. And now it has a video exclusively on the NME site! Like, a really awesome video with stop motion and making letters with humans and such. Can't wait to see it? Well here's the link!

Also, there's yet ANOTHER free Honey Trap remix (that song's getting a lot of attention!) on the RCRDLBL website. I just listened to it and it's quite good, so here's the link for that, too--

And this doesn't really relate to We Have Band, but I've been liking quite a lot of mainstream music lately for some reason...here's some mainstream songs you should check out if you're feeling like an indie snob--
1.Need You Now-Lady Antebellum (I KNOW, it's country, but it's addictive!)
2.Hey, Soul Sister-Train (Dude. This song is FREAKING AMAZING! I can't stop listening to it.)
3.For Your Entertainment-Adam Lambert (I know this isn't his hit anymore, but I still like it, despite it's extreme inappropriateness)
4.Pretty much like, EVERY Lady GaGa song. I used to hate her, but now I think she's AH-MAZING!
5.TiK ToK-Ke$ha (Okay, so I really don't like Ke$ha. The rest of her album besides this one song is really horrible and meaningless, and I have no idea why her song Blah, Blah, Blah is popular because it's one of the most annoying songs I've ever heard. ANYWAY, even though she totally stole everything from Justice and Uffie's TTHHEE PPAARRTTYY, I still can't help but like this song.)

So, there you go! Lots of stuff to listen to, eh? Have a nice weekend!

ST. LOLA IN THE FIELDS!

Okay, guys. I found this indie band from Nashville yesterday, and they are SUPER DUPER AMAZING! They're called St. Lola in the Fields. You HAVE to check out their music, especially their song Don't Say! It's REALLY pretty. Unfortunately, none of it's on iTunes, so you'll have to just listen to it on the internet or convert it from YouTube or something...
Here's a link to a really good YouTube to MP3 converting website--

And here's the link to their MySpace--

You're missing out if you don't listen to their music!

IT'S A V.V. BROWN MIRACLE!

It is, indeed! Just yesterday, V.V. Brown was merely a UK-only artist who brought the best elements of pop and a little bit of motown together, creating great music for me to take off YouTube and change to an MP3, but now, she's in the US! WOOT! I have been waiting FOREVA for this girl to release her album in the US, and it's finally here! Plus, something even MORE awesome, one of my favorite songs by her, Shark in the Water, is the iTUNES FREE SINGLE OF THE WEEK THIS WEEK! I know, it's too much V.V. Brown awesomeness to handle! So, after you read this, you BETTER go on iTunes and buy her album (or buy it at a record store) AND get her special free Single of the Week, which is only available until next Tuesday, so hurry! Hope you like her as much as I do!
