I Love 'Love'

Clever title, eh? Anyway, I went to Las Vegas Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and my family took me to see The Beatles Love with Cirque De Soleil and it was absolutely amazing! I've only seen a Cirque De Soleil show once and it was pretty good, but this was REALLY GOOD. There was so much stuff in it! Screens, curtains with projectors on them, a big parachute that went over the audience, and little lights hanging on strings everywhere. It was overall, really well put together and fun to watch. I would definitely see it again. Well, even if I had to walk around in the swiltering Las Vegas summer heat...

TKO...

Wow. I just read this huge article on some music blog about TKO, the band Katie White from The Ting Tings was in when she was like, fourteen. They could've gotten huge record deals and everything, and they only released one single! It just made me wonder what would've happened if they did get signed and became big famous pop stars...would there be Dear Eskiimo? Would there be The Ting Tings? Hmmm, so many questions. I've been trying to find TKO on YouTube for the past fifteen minutes, but I can't find anything. If any of you have any links or MP3's or something, that would be awesome.

Acoustic Performance and Art by The Kills :D

The Kills--they're great music artists and visual artists! If The Kills don't ring a bell, think of the new singer in The Dead Weather, Alison Mosshart. Well, The Kills are even BETTER (Sorry for Dead Weather fans, I just don't like them that much). You may already know that, of course. If you downloaded that free Indie Spotlight iTunes package, it has a few songs from their first album in 2003, Keep On Your Mean Side. Anyway, they just did a couple of acoustic videos on the Rolling Stone AND later did some really cool artwork for BlackBook.

You can see the videos here:

And you can see the artwork here:

Well, hope you guys like The Kills as much as I do!

We Have Band--New EP AND Possibly Some US Tour Dates!!!

Oh my gosh. I am so excited. Like, jumping up and down and screaming excited. We Have Band (one of my favorite bands) is releasing a US Only (it's a miracle) EP September 15!!! It has the amazing tracks West End Girls, Oh!, Hear It In the Cans, and You Came Out on it. Also, WHB might be actually hitting the states soon (if I find out when and where I'll blog it), so be sure to keep on the look out! Just thought the US fans might want to know, and if you're not a fan of We Have Band yet, BECOME ONE! Check out their MySpace (http://myspace.com/wehaveband) and if you want more you can join their mailing list at http://www.wehaveband.com =]
Have fun!

Twenty Free iTunes Songs! (Yes, I Said Twenty.)

Okay everyone, I have exciting news. I mean REALLY EXCITING news. Well, if you like indie music. Do you see where this is leading...? Probably not. That's why I'm going to tell you. If you become a fan of iTunes Music on Facebook, you can get a code for twenty free songs! AND they're actually good! It took me a while to listen to them all, but most of them are really wicked. It's for the Indie Spotlight and such. I can't name the all the songs you'll get because I deleted a few (not all of them are good), but I can tell you that is has some of my favorite artists like The Kills, Regina Spektor, and Phoenix. I'm not sure when it expires, but I wouldn't wait just in case it's sometime soon. Hurry, go to the free songs, young grasshoppers! Okay, that was stupid. Seeya people!

Taylor Momsen's New Band Is 'Pretty' Good

Looks like the 'Gossip Girl' star has her own band now, called The Pretty Reckless. And they're actually really good (well, I do kind of dislike the band name)! It's definitely not what I expected from Taylor Momsen, or any other of those privileged celebs who get record deals out of thin air just because they're on a hit show. It's not exactly what I'd call rock, but it's kind of dark pop. They've got a cool sound. They don't have any singles or albums out yet, but you can see a few of their songs on YouTube. So check out The Pretty Reckless!
